Someone posted a short clip video of a speaker sharing an amazing testimony about God in a chat group. Someone commented testimony of which God as no mention of Jesus Christ in the testimony. So, such video testimony can be used for any religion to glorify their own gods. It’s so common to hear testimony as well as sermons about God, but few about Jesus Christ.
In John 1:1 states that, Jesus is the Word as God and all things were made through Him and in Him is the light of all mankind. When God spoke in Gen 1:24, “Let us make mankind after our own image”, His light resided in mankind as He is the light of the world (John 8:12). He is one with God, the Father as He claimed that anyone who seen Him has seen the Father as He was in the Father and the Father was in Him (Jn 14:9,10).
In John 3:35,36, “The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in His hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.” and in Jn 14:6, “I am the way the truth and the live, no one comes to the Father except through me.” He is the mediator between God and man (Heb 9:15), because though His blood, we can enter boldly before God (Heb 10:19-22)
In Phil 2:9-11, The Father highly exalted His Son above everything and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
- Jesus is the Word, Light and God (Jn 1:1-4)
- Jesus is our Messiah/Savior atoning our sins (Luke 2:11; 1 Jn 4:10, 1 Jn 2:2, Rom 3:24, Eph 1:7)
- Jesus is the mediator of new covenant (Heb 9:15; 8:6)
- Jesus is our High Priest in Heaven (Heb 4:15, 10:19-22)
- Jesus is the head of the church (Eph 1:22, 5:23; Col 1:18, 1 Cor 11:3)
- Jesus is the bridegroom of the church (Rev 19:7-9,21:9-11)
- Jesus is the cornerstone of the church (Mt 21:42, Eph 2:20)
- Jesus is the Shepherd (Psa 23:1, John 10:11)
- Jesus is our intercessor in Heaven (Rom 8:34, Heb 7:25)
- Testament of Jesus is the spirit of prophecies (Rev 19:10)
Also, in John 14:13-14, Jesus said, “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
The whole foundation of Christian faith lies with Jesus Christ as God, the Father placed everything including salvation to Him. No one can access to Father without Him. Hence, the preeminence of Jesus Christ in everything.
It is amazing that Jesus Christ, being God incarnate, who lived as man, can empathize with our weaknesses, tempted and tested in every way yet did not sin, He constantly intercedes for us before God, the just Judge of Heaven so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Heb 4:14-15). We have our prayers answered, needs met through Him and without Him, we would have failed miserable.
As follower of Jesus Christ, we ought to render honor and worship due to Him, in testimony, sermons, speech and deeds.
